Tenth Anniversary Of Miracle On Hudson Is Tomorrow
(New York, NY) — Tomorrow marks the tenth anniversary of the Miracle on the Hudson plane water landing in New York City. It was January 15th, 2009 that Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger helped guide US Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River after a flock of geese disabled the engines moments after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport. Dozens of passengers, crew members and first responders from the 155 who survived that day gathered for an annual dinner this past weekend at Coppola’s in Manhattan. Most of the people on the Charlotte-bound plane were from the Carolinas. Hundreds are expected to gather tomorrow at the Charlotte Aviation Museum where the plane is currently housed.
