DUI Arrest Press Release
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 10
PESOTUM, IL: On January 22, 2019 at approximately 8:39 p.m., Illinois State Police District 10 Officers, along with local officers were advised by Pontiac Communications Center of a Mahomet Seymour School bus that had been reportedly driving erratically through Decatur. The bus was reported to be traveling on I-72 East on the east side of Macon County. The school bus was located by the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office and Monticello Police Department and the bus was stopped along I-72 East in Piatt County. Illinois State Police officers arrived on scene. The driver of the bus was Marvin R. Bell, Male, 69, of Mahomet. An investigation into the cause of the reckless driving was conducted which resulted in the arrest of the driver for DUI Drugs as well as Endangering the Life of a Child. The bus was carrying approximately 33 students and coaches from Mahomet Seymour at the time it was stopped.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
