EIU ‘s Tadiwa Mhonde and Clayton Turner are the Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Mhonde had a strong showing during the John Craft Invite as he picked up one first place finish and two-second place finishes. Mhonde helped the his 4×400 Relay squad of Brandan Lane, Anthony Bello, and Morris Seaton cross the line first at 3:27.11. Mhonde also earned second place honors in the 60-meter dash (6.93) and 200-meter dash (22.22). Mhonde currently ranks second in the OVC for the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
Turner earned his first-first place finish on the season in the shot put. Turner’s throw of 16.69m/ 54-09.25 marks him first in the OVC for the shot put. Turner’s throw also ranks 109 in the NCAA for the shot put.
The Panthers return to action this weekend at Iowa Black & Gold Premier.
