Illinois Lawmaker Wants SIU Campus Building In Springfield
(Springfield, IL) — One downstate Illinois lawmaker wants to open a new campus for Southern Illinois University, this time in Springfield. Democratic state Senator Andy Manar yesterday introduced a plan that would spend 50-million-dollars on an SIU public policy center in downtown Springfield. Never mind that Springfield is not in southern Illinois. SIU already has campuses in Carbondale and Edwardsville.
