The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Knox-Stark-Peoria-Marshall-Woodford-Fulton-Tazewell-McLean-
Schuyler-Mason-Logan-De Witt-Piatt-Champaign-Vermilion-Cass-Menard-Scott-Morgan-Sangamon-Christian-Macon-Moultrie-Douglas-Coles-Edgar-Shelby-Cumberland-Clark-Effingham-Jasper-Crawford-Clay-Richland and Lawrence counties from 12pm today until 3am tomorrow morning.
* TIMING…Strong winds will develop by early afternoon, then will continue through the afternoon and evening.
* WINDS…Westerly winds will increase to 25 to 35mph…with gusts of 40 to 50mph at times.
* IMPACTS…Travel will become difficult…especially on north- south oriented roads such as I-55, I-155, and I-57. Loose outdoor items will be blown around and minor tree damage will be possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
