Illinois Governor Signs 15 Dollar-An-Hour Minimum Wage
(Springfield, IL) — The minimum wage is going up in Illinois. Governor JB Pritzker made it official yesterday when he signed a new law that will raise the starting wage in the state to 15 dollars-an-hour by 2025. The minimum wage is set to jump to 10 dollars-an-hour by the end of next year, then go up by a buck each year after that until it hits 15 dollars an hour. Republicans and business groups say it’s going to be a jobs killer.
