(Chicago, IL) — Actor Jussie Smollett is reportedly back on the “Empire” set after posting bond in Chicago. Variety is among the media outlets reporting his return hours after a bail hearing. Police accuse him of filing a false report when he told authorities he was attacked and beaten in a racist and homophobic attack. Investigators say Smollett staged the entire incident to promote his career. The actor made no comment to the reporters who swarmed him as he left Cook County jail flanked by security.
