The beloved children’s baseball movie “The Sandlot” is making a comeback as a TV series with the original cast. Yeah, the cast has aged since the film’s 1993 release date. Writer and director David Mickey Evans told “The Rain Delay” podcast the series would be set in 1984, 22 years after the original film was set. It would focus on the boys as adults each raising children of their own. He said a streaming service has agreed to air it, but did not identify which one. He did not give a date the series would begin. The cast members who have agreed to return include those that played the characters Scotty Smalls, Benny The Jet, Ham Porter, Squints and Yeah-Yeah.
