Nearly Half Of Illinois High School Grads Still Leave For College
(Springfield, IL) — Almost every other high school graduate in Illinois leaves the state for college. The Illinois State Board of Higher Education delivered that news to lawmakers earlier this week. The board says 48-percent of high school graduates in the state chose an out-of-state college or university in 2017. That’s more students leaving than before. In 2016, nearly 46-percent of Illinois high school grads left the state for college.
