French Investigators Say Boeing 737 Max Black Boxes Badly Damaged
(Paris) — French investigators are running into a problem with the black boxes from the Ethiopian plane crash. Officials in Paris say both the flight data and cockpit recorders are so badly damaged that opening them might compromise the data. They may end up sending them to the U.S. for analysis by the original manufacturer. Boeing 737 MAX passenger jets remain grounded worldwide as the search continues for clues into Sunday’s crash that killed 157 people. It was the second deadly crash of a 737 MAX in less than five months.
