We wanted to take a moment of your weekend, and ask you to lift up Mason Birdsong and his family.
If you don’t know Mason, he is a junior at Cumberland High School. In February 2018, you heard Mason on WMCI (along with our sister stations) during National FFA week as he came in and recorded FFA messages to air on our radio stations.
Mason should be working on FFA projects. He should be thinking about prom.
Yesterday (March 15), Mason was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, referred to St. Jude and will travel tomorrow to the Jim and Trudy Maloof St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic in Peoria, to begin his six month treatment.
There will be a send-off for Mason today (Sunday, March 17) at the gym at Cumberland High School. It starts at 2:30pm and you are encouraged to attend. Please also wear Mason’s favorite color, red.
Tomorrow morning, many of you will be headed to church. Would you please include Mason and his family in your church’s prayer chain?
Thank you very much!
With lots of Love,
Bub and Renee
