Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) operates a School Supply program to assist low-income families with the purchase of required school supplies for children in grades K-12. The parents are unfortunately not in a position to provide the quality and quantity needed. The lack of school supplies negatively affects the children and the quality of education they receive. Last year, ERBA was able to assist more than 109 children in Coles County.
Any donations will be gratefully accepted. New book bags and/or supplies may be dropped off at your local ERBA Outreach Office at 825 18th St., Charleston, IL. Any monetary donations can be sent to Embarras River Basin Agency, Inc., P.O. Box 307, Greenup, Illinois, 62428, with a notation for Coles County School Supplies.
Suggested school supplies include Kleenex, hand sanitizer, loose leaf paper, colored pencils, ball point pens, ear buds, spiral notebooks, school glue, glue sticks, pencils, erasers, pocket folders, washable markers, Crayola crayons and plastic rulers.
ERBA serves Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence and Richland counties.
