Plan To Repeal Illinois Parental Notification Abortion Law Advances
(Springfield, IL) — The Democrat who’s shepherding a plan to rollback Illinois’ law that requires teens to tell their parents before getting an abortion says his plan is ‘pro-family.’ State Senator Elgie Sims told lawmakers yesterday that he wants to encourage families to have conversations by eliminating the requirement that teens speak to their parents before ending a pregnancy. The proposal now heads to the full Illinois Senate, where it’s expected to pass.
