Care.com Drops Thousands Of DayCare Center Listings
(Undated) — Online childcare marketplace care.com is dropping nearly half its daycare center listings. The website is confirming it took down more than 45-thousand listings after The Wall Street Journal found that hundreds of listings were not licensed by states, as claimed. Some of the centers falsely claimed they were licensed, and others either didn’t exist or didn’t know they were listed on the site. The Journal’s report on Sunday pointed out that care.com does only limited vetting of the caregivers listed. The company has stressed it does not fully screen caregivers.
