Language Filed For Constitutional Amendment To Allow Graduated Income Tax
(Springfield, IL) — Language is filed for a constitutional amendment that would allow a graduated income tax. The Illinois Senate Executive Committee is set to take up the matter today. Governor J.B. Pritzker said yesterday it’s time to “let the people vote” on the possible tax structure overhaul. The measure could show up on the ballot as early as the 2020 presidential election if it receives approval from three-fifths of each of the Illinois Senate and House.
