NC Gas Explosion Leaves One Person Dead, Others Injured
(Durham, NC) — An entire city block in downtown Durham, North Carolina looks like a war zone after a massive gas explosion rocked the city. One person is dead and 15 people are hurt, including a firefighter in critical condition. Durham Emergency Management says before the blast, a contractor hit a gas line and called the fire department. It’s unclear if fire crews were arriving on the scene or were inside the building when the blast occurred. The building collapsed partially and news images show shattered glass, twisted metal and heavy debris throughout the area. The city says residents should stay away from the area.
