Illinois State Trooper Visits Scene Of Her Near Deadly Collision
(Peoria, IL) — An Illinois state trooper says she’s thankful to be alive and back on the job after a near-death experience in January. Trooper Breann Imig revisited the scene yesterday where she and a Peoria County Sheriff’s deputy were parked January 15th on the shoulder of I-74 westbound near mile marker 79. A truck driver attempted to move into the right lane and lost control, smashing into the patrol car where Imig had taken refuge. She escaped through the passenger door with minor injuries and returned to work in mid March.
