Macon County Deputy, Others Investigated For Misconduct
(Macon County, IL) — Members of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office are being accused of misconduct. An anonymous letter sent to the state’s attorney’s office alleges a deputy and other current and former sheriff’s office employees made purchases at foreclosure sales on home. The sales are conducted by the sheriff’s office and state law prevents a sheriff or deputy from taking part. A special prosecutor has been appointed and Illinois State Police are investigating.
