Woods To Receive Presidential Medal Of Freedom
(Washington, DC) — President Donald Trump will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to golfer Tiger Woods. Trump tweeted the news today, a day after Woods won his fifth Masters title in Augusta. Trump wrote that he spoke with Tiger to congratulate him and tell him he would be presenting the honor to Woods for “his incredible success and comeback in sports and more importantly, life.” The Medal of Freedom recognizes those who have made a meritorious contribution to the national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors. Trump has presented the Medal of Freedom to a number of athletes since taking office.
