Nineteen area men and women have earned Coach of the Year honors by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association, and five of them are from Teutopolis.
Congratulations to Chet Reeder, Laurie Thompson, Kent Niebrugge, Doug Smith, and Maria Tegeler. Charleston’s Jeff Miller is a recipient, along with Effingham’s Jeff Tonn and Jeff Schafer, Sullivan’s Sheri McCain, Ray Sharp from Newman Catholic, Olney’s Rick Franklin, Dalton McFarland from Casey-Westfield, Jason Storm of Pana, Morgan Walker from North Clay, Johnathan Henton from Edwards County, Scott McElravey of Fairfield, Missy Tingley from Paris Crestwood, and Altamont’s Lindsay Van Blaricum and Katie Lurkens.
All will be honored at the IBCA Hall of Fame Banquet May 4th.
