Colwell Leaves SIU System Office During Randy Dunn Controversy
(Carbondale, IL) — A high level administrator is leaving the position at Southern Illinois University for which he was improperly hired by former SIU president Randy Dunn. Brad Colwell had been SIU’s vice president of academic affairs since July 2017. The state inspector general’s office found after an investigation in December 2018 that Dunn had broken university rules to hire Colwell and two employees at SIU Carbondale. The other two employees are no longer with the university. Colwell is returning to a teaching position at the SIU Carbondale campus.
