U.S. Military Officials Arrive In Sri Lanka To Probe Bombings
(Colombo) — U.S. military and FBI officials have arrived in Sri Lanka to assist with the investigation of Sunday’s deadly bomb attacks. Over 350 people were killed in the suicide bombings at luxury hotels and churches on Easter Sunday. In a national address last night, Sri Lanka’s president said he was kept in the dark on the intelligence about the planned attacks, and vowed to take “stern action” against officials who failed to share that information. He also said he had given the military wartime powers to arrest suspects.
