Work on Illinois 128 in Shelbyville begins May 1
SHELBYVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that construction on Illinois 128 from Illinois 16 to north of Sixth Street in Shelbyville will begin Wednesday, May 1.
The project involves repaving the road and improving pedestrian accommodations and will require daily lane closures. Work is expected to be complete by July 5.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
