Parents Of AJ Freund Appear In Court
(Woodstock, IL) — The Crystal Lake parents accused of killing five-year-old AJ Freund will likely enter pleas to murder charges next week. JoAnn Cunningham and Andrew Freund, Senior appeared in court yesterday for separate proceedings. During one hearing, both agreed to have DCFS care for their younger son while prosecutors try to terminate their parental rights. In a separate hearing for their criminal cases, Cunningham was appointed a public defender and a preliminary hearing was set for May 10th. Both parents were charged with murdering AJ last week after his body was discovered in a shallow grave outside of northwest suburban Woodstock.
