Police Chief Reappointment Controversy Continues
(Champaign, IL) — People are defending the Effingham police chief after a recent controversy. Nearly all officers and telecommunicators in the department cast a no confidence vote against Chief Jeff Fuesting in April. His reappointment was left off yesterday’s council agenda, bringing supporters out to question when a decision on the reappointment would be made. The mayor hasn’t publicly said if he plans to replace Chief Fuesting.
