(Jefferrson City, MO) — Officials in Jefferson City are calling the twister that hit the town late Wednesday a mass casualty event. The half-mile wide tornado tore through the city center traveling 40 miles per hour, leaving people trapped and injured. Multiple rescue operations are underway. Jefferson City is home to more than 40-thousand residents. Videos posted online appears to show buildings and homes completely destroyed.
