Police identified the gunman as 40-year-old DeWayne Craddock and described him as a “disgruntled employee” who opened fire yesterday in a city building where he had worked for several years. Craddock reportedly went floor-to-floor in the three-story municipal building, seemingly shooting his coworkers at random. He was killed in a lengthy gun battle with officers. Police recovered several weapons including a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun at the scene. Several other weapons were found in his home. Investigators are working to determine a motive for the year’s deadliest shooting in the U.S.
