Legislature Passes Budget At End Of Session
(Springfield, IL) — A budget is in place for Illinois’ next fiscal year. The Senate took final action over the weekend on a nearly 40 billion dollar budget. The legislation also included a 45 billion dollar outline for rebuilding roads, schools, and other public works. An increased gas tax, a gaming expansion tax, and a cigarette tax were part of the package.
