According to the Mattoon Community School District #2 Facebook, the Mattoon School Board has approved Tim Condron to be the next Superintendent over the district. The board reached this decision during a school board meeting on June 11th. Condron will succeed current Superintendent Larry Lilly, who will be retiring on June 30th, 2020. Lilly will have served 16 years as Superintendent upon retirement, the longest serving in district history. Condron and Lilly will work jointly on a leadership transition plan over the coming school year, with Condron officially beginning his duties on July 1st, 2020.
