(Sacramento, CA) — Ten states, led by California and New York, are filing a lawsuit to block a major telecom merger. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra says the planned 26-billion dollar deal for T-Mobile to buy Sprint would lead to higher prices and fewer choices for consumers. T-Mobile and Sprint argue that the merger would allow them to more quickly roll out a next-generation 5G network and increase service to rural customers. This is T-Mobile’s third merger attempt.
