Christensen Could Be Tried Again In Separate Civil Case
(Urbana, IL) — Regardless of the outcome of accused kidnapper and killer Brendt Christensen’s criminal trial, he may face more legal action in a civil suit. Christensen was named along with two University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign social workers in a lawsuit being filed by the estate of Yingying Zhang. Christensen’s attorneys admitted in opening statements yesterday in the criminal trial that their client had killed Zhang in June 2017. Christensen’s attorney’s are blaming failures by the U of I mental health system for Zhang’s death.
