Illinois To Expand School Bus Services

(Rockford, IL) — The Illinois State Board of Education is expanding school districts’ ability to offer free busing to students. The expanded law offers transportation to student who would have to walk through gang-infested areas. The new law provides compensation to schools to transport students who live within a mile and a half of the campus if they pass through an area of gang activity.
