Illinois Teacher Shortage Impacting Schools
(Rockford, IL) — The Illinois teacher shortage is set to affect classrooms across the state this fall. A survey by the IllinoisAssociation of Regional Superintendents of Schools released yesterday shows that 20-percent of the open positions in responding districts remain unfilled. Education experts in the state say the shortage could lead to much larger class sizes, which is not good for the students. Some districts are upping their marketing campaigns in an attempt to attract highly qualified teachers.
