Charleston Fire Department – News Release
On June 27, 2019 at 12:25 am the Charleston Fire Department was dispatched to 617 W State Lot 5 in Charleston for smoke coming from a mobile home.
Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the eves of the structure. Crews entered the home and found fire on the floor in the living room. The fire was quickly extinguished. The home appears to have been abandoned at the time of the fire. The fire damage was contained to the living room with smoke damage throughout the home.
No injuries were reported. Crews were on scene until around 2:30am. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Charleston Fire Department was assisted by Mattoon Fire Department, Charleston Police Dept., and Ameren CIPS.
