(Washington, DC) — Proposed legislation aims to require Congressional approval before waging war with Iran. California Congressman Ro Khanna introduced a bipartisan amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that explicitly requires congressional authorization for any military action against Iran. This comes after President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that he canceled a strike on Iran last week. Khanna says this nation was only minutes away from executing a deadly and unauthorized strike that could have plunged us into another endless military situation in the Middle East. The Senate failed to advance a similar amendment on Friday.
