Pritzer Signs Gas Tax Hike Bill

(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois gas tax is about to double. Governor JB Pritzker signed a bill today raising the tax to 38 cents per gallon saying the cash will go to fix up roads. Pritzker also signed a bill raising the cigarette tax to two-98 per pack. The governor promises the 45-billion-dollar plan will help the state and create more jobs. The taxes go into effect on Monday.
