Illinois To Study Trans Inclusiveness In Schools
(Chicago, IL) — The state of Illinois is ready to look at whether schools in the state are welcoming enough to trans students. Governor JB Pritzker used a stop at Chicago’s Pride Parade to sign a new law that creates a task force to study trans student rights. The new law also orders the Illinois State Board of Education to make sure any and all trans students in the state know what help is available. The new 25 member trans rights committee is due to have a report to the governor by January.
