Former candidate for Illinois governor Robert Marshall is challenging U.S. Senator Dick Durbin for his seat in 2020. Marshall is a Vietnam veteran and licensed physician, and announced yesterday he will be running as a Republican in the upcoming election. Marshall emphasized his health care experience and public service background in his announcement. He previously ran as a Democrat, but notes he has always remained pro-life and is an NRA member.
