Computer Glitch Halts Illinois Unemployment Payments
(Springfield, IL) — People waiting on their unemployment benefits in Illinois are going to have to keep waiting. The IllinoisDepartment of Employment Security says some kind of database glitch has stopped payments to nearly 30-thousand people in the state. A DES spokesperson says they’re not sure just what’s causing the problem, so they don’t know when they’ll have it fixed. That means the state isn’t sure when folks on unemployment will be paid again.
