*TEMPERATURE…Highs in the 90s through Sunday…with afternoon heat index readings topping out from 105 to 115 degrees.
*IMPACTS…The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure. The very young, elderly, those without air conditioning, and those participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be most susceptible. Vehicle interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Never leave pets, children or the elderly unattended in parked vehicles. The extended period of high heat and humidity will worsen the effects of heat stress.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a DANGEROUS SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of water, wear light weight and loose fitting clothing, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or evening hours.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1.
