Lawsuit Filed Opposing New Gun Licensing Law
(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Rifle Association is fighting against a new law impacting gun owners in the state. The group filed a lawsuit yesterday to repeal a law approved by Governor J.B. Pritzker that requires gun dealers to be licensed by the state. The certification fee costs anywhere from 300-dollars to 15-hundred dollars based on whether or not there is a retail location. Senator Don Harmon sponsored the bill and says other states that have enacted similar laws have seen a reduction in guns used in crimes.
