Mail Carrier Honored For Reporting Fire
(Mattoon, IL) — A mail carrier is being honored for reporting a house fire on her route. Fire officials say the blaze broke out in May in the three-thousand-block of Richmond Avenue in Mattoon. Aubrie McMichaels heard the smoke alarm going off and called 911. No one was home during the fire. Town officials say she prevented extensive damage to the property.
