The Mattoon to Peoria St. Jude Run team completed their ninth year on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
Over 115 runners and volunteers left Riddle Elementary, Friday morning (August 2) at 8am for the 148 mile relay run to Peoria. When the team left, they had raised over $188,000 for St. Jude.
Saturday night, August 3, Team Mattoon, presented a check for $203,680 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This marks the biggest donation to St. Jude over the last 9 years. The Team pushed their total donations to over $1.1 Million dollars.
This year Team Mattoon included runners and volunteers from 32 different towns and two states (Illinois and California). Mattoon was one of thirty four teams that ran to Peoria. This year, the St. Jude Runs program raised $5,698,582 for St. Jude. In 38 years, the run program has raised $61,921,460.
