Normal Teacher Arrested For Child Sex Abuse
(Normal, IL) — A Normal school teacher is facing charges of sex abuse and assault of a child. Police say 47-year-old Johnathon Hovey, who teaches at Normal Glenn Elementary School, was arrested on Friday after a female student said he touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions. Hovey was then also charged when police reopened a 2005 report where a first grade student accused him of inappropriate touching. He is being held at the McLean County Jail on a bond of 100-thousand dollars. Anyone with information or that may have been a victim is asked to contact local police.
