Illinois Law Requires New Safety Measures For Kennels
(Rockford, IL) — An Illinois law is requiring new safety measures for kennels in the state. Kennels are now required to be staffed at all times or to install fire alarms or a sprinkler system that notifies local fire departments when its activated. The law comes in response to a January 2019 incident where over 30 dogs were killed when a fire broke out at a suburban Chicago kennel.
