Yingying’s Remains May Be Almost Impossible To Recover
(Urbana, IL) — U.S. prosecutors in Central Illinois say that Yingying Zhang’s remains may be almost impossible to find. The Zhang family and prosecutors held a press briefing yesterday morning. Officials say Brendt Christensen told his attorneys in November what he did with Yingying’s remains under condition of immunity so the information couldn’t be used at trial. He admitted to putting her remains into three garbage bags and disposing of them in the Dumpsters of his apartment complex. Prosecutors believe those Dumpsters were searched by the FBI in June 2017. Officials say Yingying’s remains are likely dispersed at a private landfill, nearly impossible to recover.
