Governor Pritzker Signs LGBT Lessons Law
(Springfield, IL) — Schools in Illinois have one year to figure out how to highlight the contributions of gays and lesbians. Governor JB Pritzker on Friday signed a couple dozen new laws. Among them is a requirement that schools in the state add lessons about famous lesbians, gays, or transgender people. Lawmakers approved the idea last spring, saying they want to make sure students learn about everyone in this country’s history.
