Montrose Blacktop to reopen August 16
MONTROSE – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that the Montrose Blacktop about 1.5 miles south of Illinois 121 in Cumberland County will reopen to traffic Friday, Aug. 16.
The road had been closed since the end of May to replace the bridge over Brush Creek. Any remaining work may require intermittent lane closures.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
