UPDATE:
(Philadelphia, PA) — At least six Philadelphia police officers are in the hospital, shot during a standoff with a gunman. All of the officers are expected to recover. One officer is also said to be trapped inside the home with the shooter. This all started when police tried to serve an arrest warrant in the Nicetown section of the city. Local TV reports say the gunman fired through the first floor into the second floor where the officers were. They fired back and that’s when the standoff began. The entire street is now lined with officers taking cover as neighborhoods are blocked off.
(Philadelphia, PA) — Police in Philadelphia are confirming that five officers have been shot. On Twitter, Philadelphia police say the officers are all at area hospitals and are expected to survive. The scene in the Nicetown section of the city is still ongoing with one suspect continuing to fire at officers.
