An Illinois State Police trooper was shot during the execution of a search warrant in the 1400 block of North 42nd Street in East St. Louis. The shooting occurred just before 5:30 this morning. The trooper, who is 33-years-old and a 10-year veteran with ISP, was transported to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries. This is an open and ongoing investigation with active scene.
